Shifting Sands, as a theme, exposes the audience to hear speakers from diverse backgrounds talk about what happens in the in-betweens of their world - the fragile, disoriented, mutating parts of their lives. It is in these spaces that we learn to take control of our lives and endure what we can't control. It suggests that instead of wasting energy fighting against what is inevitable, one should focus on what is within their control and cultivate inner strength to navigate through difficult circumstances.
