TEDxHarry Ainlay School Youth 2025 offers a variety of talks, ranging from topics on emotional thermodynamics to what it’s like being a glass child. Likewise, our speakers list range from grade 10 to adults. Come join us for FREE from 11 to 2:45 on May 31th and enter in a giveaway (you must stay for a minimum of two talks to enter) for a waterproof mini bluetooth speaker and a Southgate mall gift card. Snacks and single flowers will also be sold (cash only). Intermission is from 12:15 to 1. Feel free to leave for intermission (We recommend getting the snacks, bringing your own lunch, or going to southgate. Remember that no food is allowed in the theatre.) and come back for more exciting talks. We look forward to seeing you there, RSVP through email or come day of (MAX 100 people)! Alice and Gabby will be speaking to you about the ability to persuade an audience and convince anyone of your point. Join them as they perform an entertaining and informative 2 person Ted Talk.

Aparna Balachandra

Aparna Balachandra is in 10th grade. She is next year’s vice president of Tedy Ainlay, and is an active member of both theatre, choir, and the IB program.She is excited to share her story and educate others on Glass Children.

GurSant is a grade 12 Full IB student going into engineering at UAlberta. He is an accomplished student with experience in speech, debate, and leadership, and a strong interest in linguistics.

Hyemin Kim

Hyemin is the president of TEDy Ainlay and Crafts Club at Harry Ainlay and a part of Grad Council, Youth Leaders in Law Edmonton, and a variety of other extracurriculars. She is the student lead for this event and am excited to deliver her talk on breathing and their connection to emotions, as well as their powerful ability to balance emotions and help us.

With a strong passion for economics, law, and diplomacy, today, she’ll explore how global polarization is shaping international affairs—and what that means for the future of the United Nations. The topic of her TEDx talk is “Solving More Than Just the Symptoms of Global Conflict”.
