Carlos is a Grade 9 student with a passion for playing music. He also loves slow-paced travelling to admire nature, especially the birds. Just like everyone, he seeks happiness in all that he does. Basketball player, Conducter of The Orchestra and drummer extraordinaire, Carlos will share how music can change your life for the better.

A vision advocate with a powerful personal story, Denise discovered in her 40’s that her visual challenges were treatable—and that we can all learn to see differently at any age. After six years of vision therapy, surgery, and dedication, she learned to see in 3D, transforming her understanding of sight and possibility. Passionate about sharing her journey, Denise hosts a podcast and works to raise awareness about how we can improve and even restore vision—proving that change is possible at any age.

Guanmou is a 9th grader, a Model United Nations representative, VEX Robotics founding member, Table Tennis enthusiast, Basketball player, and more. Outside of school, he is a passionate lover of music and has played the piano since he was knee-high to a grasshopper. Guanmou loves solving difficult problems, and believes that joy is found in the process. In his talk, he will tell you the secret fo how to do so.

Liliana is a Grade 9 student with a bone to pick with plagiarism detectors. With a deep understanding of the intricacies of the emerging fields of AI and Deep Fakes through a Global Online Academy course, her talk will explore the inner structure of Artificial Intelligence models, their ethical impacts through plagiarism and the spread of false information on social media. Get ready to be inspired in ways of constructive AI usage.

Iryna Klyuk

Educator
Iryna is an educator and art historian with a deep appreciation of how language shapes our sense of identity and belonging. Having lived and worked in Ukraine, Italy, Germany, and China, she brings a fresh, multicultural perspective to Supernova. She believes that by questioning our unexamined assumptions about the words we use, we can discover depths of ourselves that are unknown and unimagined.

Student
Jason is a G11 student just like any other, except that he is extremely extroverted. Every time he meets people, he tries his best to make a connection with them. In his talk, he will share how no matter how great or miniscule these connections, are, they celebrate our humanity and make people feel seen and valued. Join him to learn how making connections will alter the world.

Liksing is a sports enthusiast who loves analyzing the game just as much as playing it. Whether it's volleyball, badminton, track and field, or anything that gets the adrenaline pumping, he is always eager to play and improve. When he’s not on the court or in the gym, you’ll find him playing the trumpet and dizi. Approaching life with a mix of determination and humor, he is always ready to push his limits while having a great time along the way.

Seoyun knew from the day she was born: her life’s purpose was to know things people didn’t care about and to be way too into underground bands that you will never have heard of. Her other hobbies include writing free verse poetry, watching films, and listening to said various-punk-subgenre bands. But she also cares about things people should care about, like the rise of commercialism, innate bias, and saving your soul from the rhetoric of late-stage capilatism.

Beyond the stage, Simon is a soccer enthusiast, finding joy in the strategy and teamwork of the game. A lover of the arts, you can also see Simon in productions and talent shows, expressing himself through singing and acting, using performance as a medium to connect with others and deepen their exploration of emotion. His talk will help you to keep going, even on the darkest of days.
