In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Bernice Antoine

Sustainability Advocate + Youth Leader
Bernice, a sustainability advocate from Trinidad and Tobago, is currently studying Business Analytics at Notre Dame. She leverages AI and climate solutions to tackle food waste through her initiative, Planet Plate. Her efforts include composting projects in India and climate education initiatives in Ghana. During her internship at Boston Consulting Group, she concentrated on renewable energy projects. As a Caribbean Climate Ambassador, she works on enhancing climate resilience for Small Island Developing States. In her previous roles, she has led initiatives at Caribbean Women in Leadership Trinidad and Tobago and BLK Consulting, where she focused on empowering young women in policymaking. Bernice has been recognized with the 30 Under 30 Caribbean Changemaker award and the Martin Luther King Jr. Black Excellence Award for her contributions to intersectional sustainability. Her global efforts also encompass composting solutions in India and climate education programs in Ghana.

Christian Suen

Business Analyst + Content Creator
Christian Suen is a Cambridge University graduate and a prominent travel and lifestyle influencer. Growing up in Hong Kong, he has achieved notable academic and public speaking accolades. He has cultivated a significant online presence, where he shares content as part of an LGBT couple and showcases his skills as a dancer. With 5 years of experience in digital branding and marketing strategy, he is currently working as a Business Analyst at McKinsey.

Stephanie Lown

Founder of Exploring Dogs + Content Specialist at SPCA
Stephanie Lown is the founder of Exploring Dogs, a non-profit hiking group for dog owners that raises funds and awareness for animal shelters. A passionate advocate for mental health and rescue animal adoption, she also takes SPCA rescue dogs on outdoor adventures to enhance their chances of finding homes. With a degree in Animal Science from Newcastle University, Stephanie works as a Content Specialist at the SPCA (Hong Kong), overseeing their biannual magazine, Pawprint, which promotes animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

Vincent Lee

Specialist in Ophthalmology
Starting from a humble grassroots beginning, Dr. Vincent Lee trained himself for over 30 years to become a Specialist in Ophthalmology. During his time studying at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Lee discovered that he was exceptionally talented when assisting with a surgery. He had very steady hands, which he proudly presented as "Gifts from God." After such a realization, he wanted to help others with this bestowed gift, and so he strove to be an eye doctor. Later, Dr. Lee partners with Orbis, collaborating to make eye surgery and tools accessible throughout various parts of China. It was during such an eye-opening endeavour that Dr. Lee found himself taking responsibility to heart in providing eye surgery to those who are in dire need but are unable to receive proper treatments. With over 30 years of experience, he also shares his cultivated knowledge and techniques, passing it down to Specialists alike, striving to heal eyes and remove darkness.
