At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ikhwan Firdaus

Ikhwan Firdaus bin Zaki Yamani is a 22-year-old architecture graduate from UiTM Seri Iskandar, completing his studies in August 2024. Originally from Skudai, Johor, he has a strong passion for learning new knowledge and continuously improving his skills. During high school, he was awarded with Anugerah Kemenjadian ASISS KPM. Due to his excellence, he has also presented a research paper in International Undergraduate Research Conference in 2024. Just days after his final exam, he secured a position as a BIM Modeller at an electrical engineering company with a premium salary, where he applies his expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM). His journey reflects ambition, talent, and the promising future of young professionals in the architecture and engineering fields.

Ivy Manilag

Ivy Manilag is a multi-hatted creative entrepreneur, cybersecurity sales & marketing manager, and digital nomad, founder who built her career from scratch without a degree or traditional pathways. As the founder of The Creative Nomad PH, she empowers freelancers and remote workers to create opportunities beyond limitations. With experience spanning cybersecurity, digital marketing, and creative industries, Ivy bridges technical and artistic worlds, proving that success is not about waiting for the perfect moment—it’s about showing up. A global speaker and mentor, she challenges individuals to embrace discomfort, take action, and redefine what’s possible.

Janak Ashok Teckwani

Janak Ashok Teckwani is the founder of #TimeToTalk, a homegrown podcast that connects with guests from around the world, including Hollywood. With a background in counselling, he completed his master's degree with multiple published research papers. His work in research and innovation has earned him several awards in recent times. He also represented Malaysia at SX2024, embracing the challenge of high-stakes public speaking. Beyond his professional pursuits, Janak is involved in social service and the performing arts. At TEDxUTM 2025, he looks forward to sharing ideas that spark meaningful conversations.

Kang Xiang Khor

Dr. Khor Kang Xiang is the co-founder of Techcare Innovation and holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from UTM. His passion for rehabilitation technology was shaped by firsthand experiences—witnessing the pressing need for better recovery solutions and the challenges his own family faced in rehabilitation. Dedicated to advancing rehab technology, he specializes in robotics, data-driven therapy, and digital rehabilitation systems. From developing intelligent rehabilitation devices to integrating real-time data for personalized therapy, Dr. Khor is transforming conventional rehabilitation into practical, technology-driven, and accessible solutions. With over 10 years of experience in the field, his journey from researcher to entrepreneur reflects his deep commitment to making rehabilitation more effective, engaging, and scalable for global community.

Khaled Mohamed Helmy

Dr. Khaled Helmy is an Egyptian physician and academic with nearly 38 years of experience in clinical practice and medical education. He graduated from Alexandria University Egypt in 1985 and has since dedicated his career to advancing medicine both patient care and teaching. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor and Head of Medicine Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, AIMST University, Malaysia, where he plays a key role in mentoring future doctors. He previously served in the Ministry of Health, Egypt and King Saud University, Saudi Arabia before joining the Ministry of Health Malaysia as a medical specialist in Perlis, in 2004. In 2018, he transitioned to academia at AIMST university, where he continues to shape future medical professionals. Dr Khaled firmly believes: "Nothing is impossible in life, but it is more likely or less likely."

Patrick Tan Peng Jun

Patrick Tan Peng Jun is a workshop speaker, full-time Manufacturing Operations Manager, and university career coach. Recognized as one of Malaysia’s Top 50 LinkedIn Creators, Patrick has a deep passion for empowering university students with career-related knowledge. Despite his technical background, he believes that excellence is a continuous journey, not just a destination. This mindset has driven him to mentor and inspire thousands of job seekers, equipping them with the job-seeking strategies needed to thrive in an evolving job market. Since 2020, Patrick has conducted over 250 workshops and impacting more than 24,000 participants. He has been invited to over 50 universities and colleges and consistently receiving positive feedback. His mission is clear: to teach, share, and uplift students, helping them unlock their career potential.

Dr. Praveena is an engineer, sustainability advocate, and mental wellness practitioner passionate about integrating technology, mindfulness, and human-centered innovation. With a background in engineering and a deep commitment to sustainable development, she explores how systems thinking and emotional resilience drive meaningful change. Her work spans academia, leadership, and advocacy, empowering individuals and communities to build a more conscious and impactful future. As a speaker and thought leader, Dr. Praveena challenges conventional perspectives, inspiring others to rethink their role in shaping the world through intentional action and transformative ideas.

Rayden Yuzz is the Founder and CEO of Studio Five Media Group, a creative powerhouse shaping Southeast Asia’s media landscape. Based in Singapore and a graduate of Nanyang Polytechnic, Rayden blends business strategy with bold storytelling to build ventures that matter. As a serial entrepreneur and mediapreneur, his work reflects a belief that meaningful success comes with sacrifice. Through Studio Five, he’s redefining how how stories are told, ventures are built, and impact is made.

Renard Siew

Dr Renard Siew is the Head of Corporate Sustainability for Yinson where he is responsible for advancing the organisation’s work in the field of climate change and sustainability. Prior to this, he was involved in the implementation of the sustainability agenda for a number of public-listed corporations (Sime Darby, CIMB, MRCB) and was a researcher at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM) contributing thought leadership in: sustainability/ integrated reporting, GHG reporting and verification, ESG integration, socially responsible investment (across different asset classes: equities, infrastructure and property/real estate), climate change and sustainable construction for the building/infrastructure sector. Renard is a graduate of Cambridge University and UNSW. In 2013, he was selected as one of 15 scholars to attend the PhD Academy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). He has published in many international refereed journals. In 2014, he won a Highly Commended Paper award by the Emerald Literati Network and was inducted into the prestigious Global Young Academy as recognition of his research impact. He was the Co-Chair of the Climate Change & Disaster Risk Management Working Committee and UNEP-FI’s Collective Commitment on Climate Action. In 2020, he was appointed an SDG Champion-Climate Action by the World Economic Forum (WEF). He is a member of the WEF Expert Network Group, serves on the WEF Global Future Council on SDG Investment. He was accepted into the Forbes Fellowship Programme and attended the inaugural UN Climate Action Summit in New York in 2019. He is currently the President of the Malaysia Carbon Market Association (MCMA) e looking into spurring the growth of the carbon markets nationally.
