In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amna Omar

An accomplished educationist with 32 years of experience, dedicated to women’s empowerment and community development. Co-Founder of Khayaal Creative Network, promoting cultural dialogue through arts and literature festivals. Founder of ThinkBEYOND, a non-profit addressing mental health and human empowerment, and ThinkED, an educational consultancy providing tailored academic guidance. Successfully launched the Humqadam app in collaboration with Shirkat Gah at Kinnaird College, offering support for gender-based violence survivors. Spearheaded the EmpowerHer Fest, empowering female entrepreneurs to showcase their products. Established a Family Health and Skill Centre in Manga Mandi, enhancing women's healthcare and vocational training. Led the Agro-based KADEN Green initiative in Mokal, Kasur, generating sustainable employment for rural women. Currently serving as President of the Old Associates of Kinnaird Society (OAKS) and a member of Kinnaird College's Board of Governors, driving initiatives that foster women’s leadership, community engagement, and educational excellence.

Dr. Maria Malik

Dr. Maria Malik is an Assistant Professor at the School of Politics and International Relations (SPIR), Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. She previously served as a visiting Assistant Professor at the National Defence University. Dr. Malik holds a PhD in Politics and International Relations from Quaid-i-Azam University and Durham University. She has authored a book, "Balochistan Conundrum - The Real Perspective," and has conducted research on various topics, including Balochistan, human rights, federalism, and migration. Before joining academia, she worked as a pioneer member of the Balochistan Think Tank Network and as a Young Expert at the Human Rights Department in Balochistan. Dr. Malik has also served as a lecturer at Kinnaird College for Women and Forman Christian College University.

Syed Haider Aziz

Syed Haider Aziz is the co-founder of ISAAR Welfare Foundation, he believes in aiding and empowering individuals to work together towards a meaningful and positive change. He has undertaken numerous initiatives to support vulnerable communities; ISAAR Foundation continuously hosts ‘Dastarkhan Events’ in the month of Ramzan, providing relief and Iftar meals to those in need, building a close-knit community together. Syed Haider Aziz has also been active in Breast Cancer Awareness campaigns, aiming to educate and support affectees and visiting renowned institutions, such as Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital. Moreover, he continues to be a beacon of hope, extending aid towards orphanages in Pakistan. He is a powerful voice of reason and ambition, mobilising young people towards a new goal of community development and social welfare. .

Zubda Zia

Ms. Zubda Zia-Ur-Rehman is a distinguished academician, mentor, and advocate for women’s empowerment, serving as Head of the Economics Department at Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, since 2005. Ms. Zia is a SUSI Scholar 2023; she was among the 18 scholars from across the globe to be nominated for the ‘Study of US Institutes’ (SUSI) Scholars Program for ‘US Economy and Sustainable Development’. This six-week-long fellowship was funded by the US Department of State. She is the director of America Pakistan Education Exchange (APEX). Ms. Zia has won various grants. She recently won a Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund (CDAF) grant worth USD 10,000, funded by the US Department of State. She, along with two American scholars, used the grant to work on a project titled ‘Phool Nagar and Kahror Pakka: Voices of the Land’.
